Recently, the ZeroPM Consortium held its 4th consortium meeting in Karlsruhe and Rastatt, bringing partners together to discuss the future of our work toward zero pollution from persistent, mobile substances like PFAS and other PMT substances
In the photo below, we are visiting the Rauental Waterworks, standing in front of large mobile filters using ion‑exchange resins—a powerful example of the scale and complexity of PFAS remediation.
A key takeaway from the meeting was clear: prevention is the most effective and sustainable solution. While remediation technologies are essential, their costs—both financial and environmental—are extremely high. Avoiding pollution in the first place must remain the priority.
As we enter the final nine months of the ZeroPM project, we will focus on highlighting this message and sharing insights from our work.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Many thanks for great hosting by Dr. Marcel Riegel, TZW: DVGW-Technologiezentrum Wasser and Stadtwerke Rastatt GmbH!
