ZeroPM Science-Policy Webinar: ARChIE – the Australian Regulatory Cheminformatics Engine.

Announcing the ZeroPM science-policy webinar: ARChIE – the Australian Regulatory Cheminformatics Engine: Addressing challenges in identifying, prioritising, and substituting hazardous chemicals”

There are around 40,000 chemicals on the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals. The large number of chemicals on the inventory and the diversity of information available for each listed substance presents challenges for regulators. There are opportunities to enhance risk assessment and risk management of large inventories of chemicals through innovations in the way chemical information and analytical capabilities are deployed by regulators.

This webinar introduces ARChIE which is a new browser-based chemical informatics and analytics platform being developed within the Australian Government. This platform integrates a global inventory of more than 240,000 chemicals with structural information, hazard profiles, functional uses, and global and fine scale regulatory context information. Integration of this information within an easily searchable browser-based interface allows end-users to quickly prioritise chemicals for multiple regulatory purposes and policy development. Some of these key capabilities will be demonstrated live during the webinar.

The webinar will be held by Daniel Weber and Glen Walker from the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

The webinar will be on the 20th of June at 9:30 – 10:30 CET.
